Male Srakane, Cave, Kroatien

Srakane Cave, located on the south-west side of Male Srakane Island in Croatia, is a must-visit dive site for both beginner and advanced divers. Situated just off the coast, the entrance to the cave is easily accessible at a depth of 9 meters. As you enter, you'll be greeted by a passage approximately 20 meters long and a small gallery that allows sunlight to filter in from the top.

Adjacent to Srakane Cave is a stunning marine wall that descends to a maximum depth of 40 meters, catering to the more experienced divers. This wall is a sight to behold, as it is adorned with vibrant sponges and corals, creating a breathtaking underwater landscape.

The cave itself features a bed covered in large pebbles, and at the entrance, you'll encounter numerous small Scorpaena porcus, adding to the diversity of marine life in the area. For open water divers, the recommended diving depth ranges from 9 to 18 meters, while advanced divers can explore further depths of 23 to 40 meters. With good visibility of around 14 meters, divers can fully appreciate the stunning underwater scenery.

The cave system is easily navigable, with a spacious entrance tunnel reminiscent of a canyon. Inside, you'll find a large hall with a ceiling opening that welcomes natural sunlight, creating a mesmerizing visual experience. The cave also boasts an additional area divided into two levels, offering further exploration opportunities for divers.

It's noteworthy to mention that the dive site is conveniently close to the shore, with anchoring available at a distance of 15 meters from the coast.
