Cala Santandria
This dive site is conveniently accessed from Santandría Beach or by entering from the left side of the cove and jumping off a platform onto the rocks. It is an ideal spot for divers with limited experience and for night dives. With a maximum depth of 10 meters, it offers a safe and enjoyable experience.
Underwater, divers will be treated to a diverse marine life. Stingrays, seabreams, two-banded seabreams, ornate wrasses, striped red mullets, combers, painted combers, greater weevers, and wide-eyed flounders can commonly be spotted here. The sandy area near the beginning of the cove is covered with ocean grasse-wrack, adding an interesting feature to the dive.
To make the most of the dive, it is recommended to change the course to the northeast upon reaching this point and explore two small inlets that are teeming with marine life. The circular route allows divers to gradually descend and explore the underwater world at their own pace. Night dives offer the opportunity to observe cuttlefishes, squids, sea hares, Spanish dancers, and octopus.
As you begin the return journey, slowly ascending will ensure the elimination of accumulated nitrogen, making the dive safe until reaching the point of exit. It is important to note that the visibility at this dive site is approximately 12 meters, making it a favourable location for underwater exploration.
Located in Spain, specifically in the Balearic Islands, this dive spot offers a convenient location close to Sa Nacra, Camí Santandria, Son Carrió, Santandria, Ciutadella, Menorca. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced diver, this captivating dive site holds wonders waiting to be discovered.
