In the sandy area near the Cala, divers can spot fascinating creatures like the greate weever fish, cotton-spiner, and starfish. As we venture further, we come across striped red mullets, white seabreams, two banded seabreams, ornate wrass, and rainbow wrasse. The diversity of underwater species in this region is truly remarkable.
Heading towards the north coast of the island, we find another fantastic dive site in Cala Morell. Entering the water from the convenient platforms along the coast, we are greeted by a wide sandy area teeming with life. Here, divers have the chance to observe greater weever fish hiding on the ocean floor and even discover camouflaged marbled electric rays. The Cala is also home to striped red mullets, white seabreams, two banded seabreams, ornate wrass, rainbow wrasse, sea urchins, as well as Mediterranean moreys and octopus thriving amidst the rocks. The expansive posidonia seagrass meadows on the ocean floor create a stunning landscape and were once home to a plethora of fan mussels until 2018. Today, we can still encounter abundant schools of salema, adding to the vibrant marine scene.
As we continue our dive, the depths gradually increase, and we journey towards the western side of the cove. Here, we encounter a captivating cave that offers a unique play of light. Exploring this cave is a must for divers, and the return journey takes us back to the starting point in the opposite direction. Throughout the dive, safety measures are followed, and a mandatory safety stop is conducted during the return navigation.
