Boreas (Wreck)

Located just outside Palamos in Spain, the dive site known as Boreas offers an exciting underwater adventure. This 40-meter ship, lying on its port side, rests between depths of 20 and 35 meters on a sandy bottom. With a maximum depth of 30 meters and visibility reaching up to 12 meters, Boreas provides divers with a captivating exploration opportunity.

Among the fascinating inhabitants of this site are bath sponges, barracudas, conger eels, scorpionfish, lobsters, and if you're lucky, even mola mola! Originally known as Pellworm, this German sea tugboat played a significant role during the civil operations at the end of the Second World War. In 1980, it was renamed Boreas and sailed under the Panamanian flag. However, due to involvement in drug smuggling, the ship was taken out of service. To preserve its history and create an artificial reef, Boreas was intentionally sunk at its current location on January 23, 1989.
