Furio de Aigua Xelida
Located just 10 minutes northeast of Tamariu, in the stunning waters of Spain, is the captivating dive site known as the Rock of Aigua Xelida. Divers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, will find something to marvel at in this underwater wonderland.
One of the main attractions at this site is a small cave situated near the anchorage, approximately 12 meters deep. Dive buddies can venture through this cave, with the aid of a lamp, for an exhilarating and memorable experience.
As divers explore further, they will encounter a vibrant array of marine life. From majestic barracudas and moray eels to schools of chromis and breams, the diversity of species here is truly remarkable. The lucky few may even catch a glimpse of the elusive groupers or graceful eagle rays.
But the wonders don't stop there - divers can also admire the breathtaking gorgonians that thrive at a depth of just 15 meters. Whether enjoying a leisurely dive around the shallow waters surrounding the rock or venturing deeper into the canyon, experienced divers will be enchanted by the densely overgrown walls adorned with a plethora of marine life.
Macro enthusiasts will also find plenty to delight in, with nudibranchs of all sizes and colors dotting the underwater landscape. Observant divers may spot hermit crabs and partner shrimp going about their fascinating activities.
It is important to exercise caution when there is a current present. Divers should position themselves in the flow shadow as much as possible and stay within a reasonable distance from the anchor line. This ensures easy navigation and a safe return to the surface.
