Montiell / Conger Reef
The Montiell reef, located just a short 7-minute boat ride from our dive center, is a fantastic dive site for divers of all levels. With its unique coffee bean-shaped rock formation surrounded by sandy areas, this underwater paradise is a haven for marine life. With a maximum depth of 24 meters, exploring this reef is a breeze thanks to its easily navigable topography. We recommend bringing a torch for enhanced visibility.
Prepare to encounter a mesmerizing array of marine species during your dive at Montiell. Keep an eye out for scorpionfish, moray eels, conger eels, starfish, octopus, sepia, seahorses, nudibranchs, shrimps, lobsters, groupers, bream, barracuda, wrasse, and snake eels.
To begin your underwater adventure, descend using the convenient mooring line to a depth of 9 meters. Here, you'll be greeted by the reef itself resembling a massive coffee bean. As you continue your dive along the southeast direction, a stunning canyon stretches alongside the entire reef, leading you to the maximum depth of 24 meters. Explore the numerous crevices that serve as homes to moray eels and conger eels, giving the reef its alternate name. During the right season, keep an eye out for the captivating Janolus snails, another highlight of this site. At the southeasternmost point, you'll encounter a striking overhang, an abode for lobsters.
With a visibility of 14 meters, you'll have a clear view of the breathtaking underwater landscape at Montiell. This dive site is suitable for divers of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
