Situated on the east side of Phi Phi Ley, Palong Bay is a popular dive site in Thailand. Known for its proximity to the famous Maya Bay, made famous by the movie “The Beach,” Palong Bay offers a relatively easy diving experience with minimal currents. Divers can explore the underwater wonders as they head south towards Maya Bay.

One of the main attractions of Palong Bay is the frequent sightings of leopard sharks. Unlike their usual resting behavior on the sandy bottom, these captivating creatures can often be seen swimming gracefully in the clear waters. The dive site features a plateau that stretches almost the entire length, offering a maximum depth of around 5-6 meters. This makes it an ideal location for beginner divers and open water classes. As the reef descends to a depth of 14-16 meters, divers will encounter a diverse range of hard corals and rocky formations. The usual reef fish can be spotted, and lucky divers may even come across octopuses and cuttlefish.
