Malong Bay/Turtle Rock
Located on the West side of Phi Phi Leh, just north of the famous Maya Bay, the Bay of Malong is a popular dive site in Thailand. This dive spot is primarily explored between December and May, with occasional dives during the Monsoon season.
Divers in search of sea turtles will be pleased to know that the Bay of Malong is renowned in the area for its abundance of these majestic creatures. Additionally, blacktip reef sharks can also be spotted here, making it an exciting destination for divers interested in encountering marine life. Furthermore, macro enthusiasts will be delighted by the variety of macro life that can be found in this area.
The Bay of Malong is suitable for both beginner and advanced divers. However, photographers should note that this dive site does not receive direct sunlight during the morning hours. For optimal lighting conditions, afternoon dives are recommended. Nevertheless, it is important to be aware that boat and diver traffic may lead to reduced visibility during these times.
With a visibility of 13 meters and a maximum depth of 15 meters, the Bay of Malong offers a captivating underwater experience for divers of all levels. It is conveniently located in the Krabi Province, making it easily accessible for divers exploring this part of Thailand.
