With a maximum depth of 4-5 meters, depending on the runoff, divers can freely circle around the area immediately after the bridge.

For optimal diving conditions, we recommend visiting Tiefenaubrücke during the winter season, especially after dusk. The visibility in the water is around 3 meters, allowing divers to fully appreciate the diverse marine life that inhabits this area. Here, divers can encounter a variety of species, including grayling, barbel, perch, whitefish, trout, pike, burbot, gudgeon, bullhead, and many more.

To begin your underwater journey, simply dive into the river Aare against the direction of the flow, towards the bridge. Thanks to the backwater, minimal effort is required to navigate through the dive site. Once near the middle of the bridge, turn into the current and let it carry you into the pool. From there, you can explore the underwater canyons, large boulders, branches, and even unique underwater artifacts such as shopping trolleys and bicycles.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable dive experience, it is essential to maintain proper underwater orientation. Although a compass can be useful for this purpose, surfacing is always an option due to the shallow water depth. However, please note that diving is not recommended during and after rainfall in the catchment area, in strong currents, murky water, or during kayak training.
