Anina (Wreck)

Discover the mesmerizing wreckage of a flat-bottomed inter-island cargo vessel, previously utilized as a container cargo vessel, now resting on its starboard side, submerged in 31m / 106ft of crystal-clear water. After years spent at anchor, this remarkable vessel found its final resting place in August 2019.

Prepare to be amazed by the vibrant marine life that calls this wreck home. Encounter schools of barracuda, mackerel, Queen and French Angel Fish as you navigate through the depths. Keep an eye out for occasional sightings of grouper, squid, and grey angelfish amidst the abundant presence of Fireworms and Blennies.

Originally constructed in Germany, the Anina served dutifully as an inter-island cargo vessel for many years before being impounded due to unpaid taxes and duties. Resting between two reefs and spanning the current, this wreck acts as a magnet for an array of pelagic fish life, including Barracudas and large mackerel.

The hull of the Anina serves as a haven for a thriving community of Orange Cup corals, serving as a picturesque backdrop for various critters such as Blennies, fireworms, shrimps, and the occasional octopus and Frogfish sighting. For certified divers seeking an adventure, this vessel offers exploration opportunities through its expansive cargo hold and three-level engine room. The large wheelhouse, adorned with numerous gauges and cupboards, presents an enticing opportunity for investigation during your underwater escapade.
