BOAVA THILA

A 10-minute boat ride to the north brings us to Boava Thila, a popular dive site located north of Le Meridien in the inside atoll of the Maldives. This dive spot is well-suited for divers of all levels, including beginners and experienced divers. One of the main attractions at this site is the presence of turtles, with the endangered hawksbill turtle being a common inhabitant. The reef at Boava Thila has expansive patches of beautiful black coral, a unique type of soft coral with a black skeleton surrounded by colorful polyps. Divers can also explore small cracks and overhangs, which serve as homes for lobsters, moray eels, and stone fish - the world's most venomous fish. It's important to exercise caution and avoid touching the reef or potentially encountering the stone fish while diving. Boava Thila offers a depth range of 5 to 30 meters, and the visibility averages around 21 meters. With its diverse marine life and accessible location in Lhaviyani, Maldives, Boava Thila is a must-visit dive site for divers of all skill levels.
