Maalhos Thila

Also known as Blue Caves, Maalhos Thila dive site in the North Ari Atoll of Maldives is renowned for its stunning display of blue and purple soft corals. The site derives its name from the expansive overhangs that offer easy access for divers to explore.

In addition to the mesmerizing coral life, divers at Maalhos Thila can marvel at the sight of large schools of blue-striped snapper, fascinating macro creatures, as well as graceful grey reef sharks and white tip reef sharks.

Situated to the north of Maalhos Island, the top of this dive site starts at a depth of about 9 meters, gradually descending to a maximum depth of 29 meters. Along the southern section of the reef wall, magnificent overhangs resembling caves can be found. These caves vary in depth, ranging from 10 to 27 meters depending on their location on the reef. Delicate soft corals in shades of white, blue, and purple adorn the ceilings of these overhangs, granting photographers the opportunity to capture exquisite shots.

With excellent visibility of up to 18 meters, Maalhos Thila is a splendid underwater paradise suitable for advanced and expert divers. The close proximity of this dive site to Bodu Magu, Alif Alif, Maldives makes it easily accessible for diving enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable experience in this breathtaking destination.
