Hanimaadhoo Thila

Located a short distance away from Hanimaadhoo Faru in the Maldives, this medium-sized thila is a perfect dive spot for divers of all levels. With a maximum depth of 25 meters and visibility up to 18 meters, this dive offers a unique underwater experience.

As we descend in open water, we navigate to the base of the thila, which drops to around 30 meters. During the dive, we will circle the thila multiple times, allowing us to discover the many differences from the bottom to the top. The base of the thila features a large section of green algae, while the sides of the rock offer opportunities to spot moray eels and octopuses.

In addition to these fascinating creatures, divers can also expect to see soft corals, including large fans, turtles, whitetip sharks, various types of rays, and an abundance of reef fishes. The top of the thila is covered in schooling fish such as fusiliers and anemones, with several moray eels hidden among the corals and boulders.

To conclude the dive, we swim across the sandy bottom to reach the main reef wall at the island, where we can explore Hanimaadhoo Faru.
