Goat Island
Goat Island, located near Cape Rodney in the Hauraki Gulf, is a popular marine reserve in New Zealand. This dive site offers a diverse range of marine landscapes, including sandy flats and rocky reef systems. With a visibility of 7m and a maximum depth of 7m, it is suitable for beginner divers.
Divers can expect to encounter a variety of marine life at Goat Island, including snappers, stingrays, eagle rays, goatfish, kingfish, blue maomao, yellowtail, octopus, nudibranch, crabs, and more. Dolphins and seals are also commonly spotted in the area.
