Chibishi
Chibisi is a group of three uninhabited islands, namely Kamiyama Island, Naganu Island, and Kuev Island, situated approximately 10 kilometers west of Naha City in Japan. It's easily accessible, with a boat ride from Naha taking around 30 minutes. Please note that there are no liner boats available to Chibisi.
Diving at Chibisi offers a diverse marine ecosystem teeming with fascinating marine life. You can spot juvenile tens, stingrays, red pine scorpionfish, red clams, and many other intriguing species. Abundance of invertebrates like nudibranchs and sea snails can also be observed underwater. In addition, during the winter months, there's a high chance of witnessing the majestic humpback whales on their migratory journey from the boat.
The proximity of Chibisi to Naha Airport makes it convenient for diving in the afternoon after arriving on the island. The underwater landscape features sandy beaches, coral roots, as well as small arches and tunnels to explore. There are also specific dive sites where encountering sea turtles is highly likely. Furthermore, Chibisi offers opportunities to observe bigeye trevally, as it serves as a hub for migratory fish.
With great visibility of 18m and a maximum depth of 16m, Chibisi appeals to both beginner and advanced divers. Located in Tokashiki, Shimajiri, Okinawa Prefecture, 901-3501, Japan, this dive site offers a captivating experience for underwater enthusiasts.
