Veril Chico
Located parallel to Saladar Beach in Jandia, Fuerteventura, the Jandia Small Reef is a rocky and sandy platform that offers optimal diving for Advanced Open Water Divers or certified deep divers. With depths ranging from 17 to 32 meters, this site provides an exciting underwater adventure.
Divers exploring the Jandia Small Reef can encounter a variety of marine life, including Angel sharks, rays, Atlantic mackerel, barracudas, groupers, yellowfin mackerel, morays, conger eels, and numerous species of small fish. The diverse ecosystem makes every dive a memorable experience.
Whether diving from a boat or the beach, accessing the Jandia Small Reef is convenient. If entering from the beach, divers can take advantage of the area's amenities, which include lifeguards, easy access, a bar, restaurant, shower area, and restrooms. The equipment can be prepared at the lighthouse area, and a short 150-meter walk leads to the water entrance.
For those opting for a boat dive, it is recommended to start from Morro Jable harbor. After preparing the equipment, a 10-minute boat ride will bring divers to the dive spot. However, it is essential to check the weather forecast, as higher waves can complicate access from both the beach and boat. Additionally, be aware that surface or bottom currents may be present, especially in May and October due to tides.
With visibility reaching up to 17 meters and a maximum depth of 24 meters, the Jandia Small Reef ensures an immersive and memorable diving experience. As a dive site in Spain, specifically in the Canary Islands, this location offers both breathtaking underwater scenery and convenient amenities.
Be sure to visit the Jandia Small Reef and immerse yourself in the beauty of Fuerteventura's underwater world.
