OPITO BAY

Although currently closed for the next two years due to poor bed conditions, this renowned scallop bed promises a remarkable marine life even in its sandy bottom surroundings. Opito's dive sites, while fairly standard, offer an exciting range of depths. As you venture further from the beach, the water gets deeper, reaching depths of 20+ meters. Rabbit Island is a popular spot among spearos, but beware of the potentially treacherous currents along its outer edges. Exercise caution around boaters, especially during the summer months.
