HOME BAY - GMI

The western side of Great Mercury Island in New Zealand is a safe and convenient spot for boats to anchor and stay overnight. However, the scallop beds in this area are currently closed until at least 2023 due to their poor condition.

The dive site features a sandy bottom on the scallop field, with large patches of sea grass. One popular attraction is "The Sisters," a two-part broken reef that is commonly frequented by spearfishing enthusiasts.

With a maximum depth of 15m and visibility of 8m, this site is suitable for divers of beginner and advanced levels. Located near Waikato, New Zealand, it offers an exciting diving experience for enthusiasts in the country.
