Champagne Rock

The northern side of Champagne Rock in New Zealand is an ideal starting area for divers. Champagne Bay offers a 10m depth with a vast open reef, creating a perfect underwater environment. Adjacent to the rock, there is a wall covered in diverse sealife, including typical kelp with long cracks and ledges. This habitat provides ample hiding places for baby crayfish and octopuses, as well as sightings of sand daggers wrasse and leather jackets.

It's important to note that there can be strong currents towards the outer edges, and as a popular spot for local tour guides, boat traffic is frequent. However, with a visibility of 7m and a maximum depth of 11m, this dive site caters to both beginner and advanced divers.
