Inner Mulberry
This dive site is a small component of the Mulberry Harbour, believed to have served as an Intermediate Pier head Pontoon and now serves as a resting place for divers. It is easily identifiable by a tall red can buoy and becomes accessible during Low Water.
During a Seasearch survey, it was discovered that the structure houses a diverse range of marine life, including 17 species of anemones, Nudibranchs, Scorpionfish, Crabs, and Lobsters.
Please note that this site features a rectangular block made of reinforced concrete, allowing divers to explore its inner rooms with swim-throughs connecting them. This makes it a penetration dive, requiring proper training in wreck diving and navigation. Inexperienced divers should limit their exploration to the exterior of the structure. Be cautious of exposed metal bars, especially in the ceiling area. The interior may accumulate sediment, so it is essential to exercise good buoyancy control.
Diving around High Water is recommended as it provides a depth of approximately 7m. However, be prepared for some current. Once you have finished exploring the interior, divers typically drift away under SMBs (Surface Marker Buoys) for the remainder of their dive.
