Fisherman’s Rock

Welcome to the breathtaking dive site located in the crystal-clear waters of Fiji's Western region. Starting at a depth of 3msw, this site teems with a diverse array of marine life inhabiting or visiting the pinnacle. One side of the site connects to the main barrier reef, while the other side features a dramatic drop-off plunging to over 40msw. The upper section of the site is adorned with vibrant, brightly colored soft corals. Discover the wonders of this site, which is accessible for diving at any time.

Here, you'll have the chance to encounter various marine creatures, including titan triggerfish, nesting in the area. Keep an eye out for pelagic species like yellowfin tuna, wahoo, barracuda, and the occasional hammerhead and silver tip sharks, in addition to the grey reef, blacktip, and whitetip sharks.

Charybdis Reef awaits you just a boat trip away from Volivoli Beach Resort, approximately 45 minutes to an hour. This horseshoe-shaped reef offers a shallow side and a thrilling deep drop-off, hosting several notable dive sites such as Fisherman's Rock, Heaven's Door, Blue Wall, and Phantasea Dome. It is a favored location for a local pod of spinner dolphins, and due to its proximity, encounters with large pelagic fish and impressive sharks, including hammerheads and silver tips, are not uncommon. Don't forget to gaze into the deep blue as you explore this remarkable destination. Divers of advanced level are recommended to fully appreciate the wonders that await.
