Triggerfish City

The reef top at this diving spot starts at a depth of 5 meters when heading westward. It is known as the Red Tooth Triggerfish due to the convergence of these vibrant fish species in the area. However, during nesting season, divers should also be cautious of encountering the feisty Titan Triggerfish.

The reef top is adorned with sparse staghorn coral, which serves as a habitat for a diverse range of reef fish. Divers can expect to encounter species such as surgeonfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, cardinal fish, fusiliers, blennies, and gobies.

From the reef top, the underwater landscape transforms into a wall that gradually slopes down to a sandy bottom, reaching depths of 12 to 14 meters. Towards the east, the wall steepens, plunging all the way down to an incredible depth of 50 meters. This dive offers a thrilling drift experience, where divers can witness a mesmerizing spectacle of schooling juvenile grey reef sharks, numbering close to 30. The area is also frequented by whitetip sharks, gracefully navigating their hunting grounds or resting amidst the reef. Green turtles, hawksbill turtles, oriental sweetlips, and a variety of grouper and snappers can be found dwelling on the rocky reef ledges, adorned with magnificent barrel sponges, tree corals, and fan corals. Keep an eye out for flounder camouflaging on the sandy bottom! The underwater scenery resembles a masterpiece by Van Gogh, utterly captivating divers.

For safety measures, divers can conduct their safety stops on the reef top, at a depth of 5 meters while heading westward. Besides enjoying the vibrant marine life, there's a chance of spotting nurse sharks and blacktip sharks in the area. Adventurous divers may even catch a glimpse of silvertip sharks during their hunting expeditions. With a touch of luck, a baby whale shark might grace divers with its presence during a leisurely cruise.

Please note that this dive spot is suitable for advanced divers due to its maximum depth of 24 meters and the potential for drift diving. With a visibility of 26 meters, divers are in for an incredible and enriching exploration of the underwater realm.
