Delsan Wreck
Beneath the surface, a mesmerizing pelagic show awaits. Witness the graceful presence of scalloped hammerhead sharks, grey reef sharks, whitetip sharks, and the impressive 1.5 - 2-meter dogtooth tuna swimming in harmonious schools. Tiger sharks can also be spotted leisurely cruising along the ocean floor, while the occasional appearance of 2 or 3 whale sharks adds to the excitement.
As divers venture deeper, a wide slope at 30 meters merges with the edge of the wall at 19 meters. Here, marvel at the peaceful presence of marble rays resting on the seabed, while an endless parade of schooling big eye jacks and giant trevally swim among vibrant fan corals, creating a breathtaking display of colors. The sight of towering barrel sponges measuring 2 meters and the elegance of tree corals contribute to the magnificence of this underwater sanctuary.
On the expansive reef top, divers will encounter flourishing staghorn and elkhorn corals, an ecosystem where even the elusive silvertip shark claims its territory. The vibrant array of marine life includes oceanic triggerfish, butterflyfish, soldierfish, bannerfish, fusiliers, surgeonfish, and Moorish idols, converging in remarkable numbers.
Further south, near the edge of the wall, juvenile grey reef sharks gather in schools of over 20 individuals, circling gracefully while Hawksbill and green turtles feed nearby. The dive concludes on the reef top, at a depth of 5 meters, where nurse sharks and blacktip sharks stealthily hunt their prey.
Adding to the allure of this dive site is the presence of the Delsan Wreck, an old fishing vessel claimed by the tempest of a storm. Despite the passage of time, this sunken wreck stands as a testament to the area's rich maritime history and is regarded as one of the finest dive experiences at Tubbataha.
With excellent visibility reaching up to 22 meters and a maximum depth of 30 meters, Delsan offers advanced divers the opportunity to explore a vibrant and diverse underwater world. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable dive adventure that will leave you in awe of the wonders that lie beneath the surface.
