Taiei Maru (Okikawa Maru)

Considered one of the most significant Japanese service ships, this wreck is a part of the impressive collection of at least 19 Wartime Standard Merchant Tanker 1TLs. Initially, the stern sank during the air raid, leaving the forecastle visible above the water surface. However, it wasn't until a subsequent strike, two weeks later, that the wreck finally descended to the ocean floor.

Situated at a depth of 26 meters, with the deck merely 12 meters below the surface, this ship remains remarkably upright despite its twisted bow. Divers, particularly advanced level ones, can explore the vibrant and healthy coral reef surrounding the exterior, which serves as a thriving habitat for countless reef fish and coral species. Furthermore, inside the wreck, numerous penetration options offer a unique opportunity to delve into the ship's historical past.

With visibility extending up to 10 meters and a maximum depth of 24 meters, this dive spot promises a mesmerizing experience for divers of all levels. Don't miss the chance to witness the captivating Jacks during your underwater adventure.
