Irako (Wreck)

This massive high-speed mobile refrigerator served as a crucial food warehouse during the war, catering to the sustenance needs of 25,000 men for an impressive span of two weeks. Remarkably, it holds a prominent place among the finest wrecks to be explored in the area.

At the Irako wreck, divers can expect an extraordinary underwater experience, witnessing not only the vibrant marine life typical of a coral reef but also the captivating sight of schools of jacks, anchovies, and smaller glassfish.

With depths reaching 45 meters at its bottom and 34 meters at the deck, this wreck demands a level of skill and expertise beyond that of novice divers. Yet, for those with experience, the intact and upright positioning of the Irako, apart from its superstructure, presents an undeniable spectacle. Alongside, the bow of the wreck attracts swarms of sizable fish, and its bow gun mount remains the best-preserved among all the wrecks in the surrounding area.
