Punta Sur - Devil’s Throat
Dive sites in Punta Sur, Mexico offer thrilling opportunities for advanced and expert level divers. These sites are known for their formidable prevailing currents and the depths of the dive profiles. One of the most famous passages in this area is Devil's Throat, located at the southernmost end. The entry point starts around 27m/90 feet deep and descends to depths of 42m/140 feet through a lengthy and narrow downward cavern.
At Devil's Throat, divers have the chance to encounter a variety of marine life, including large reef sharks, occasional hammerheads, eagle rays, and other majestic rays. The caverns within this dive site are also home to a population of large lionfish.
Please note that due to the challenging conditions and depths, Devil's Throat is not suitable for faint-hearted divers. It requires a high level of skill and experience.
