Freshwater Cenote: Perfect for Practicing Open Water Skills

Located in Mexico's Rivera Maya, this freshwater cenote is an ideal spot for divers looking to practice their open water skills. With a maximum depth of 9m, it offers a safe and controlled environment for courses that require shallow water.

For certified cave divers, there is an additional section available to explore within the cave, providing a unique diving experience.

The cenote is inhabited by various species of small freshwater fish, turtles, and diverse underwater flora, making it a captivating underwater ecosystem.

Diving conditions in this cenote are favorable, with very little current and excellent visibility ranging between 100 and 200 meters. This impressive visibility allows divers to fully appreciate the cavernous formations on the walls. However, it's important to note that these formations are only accessible to certified cave divers.

The cenote's bottom composition consists of various types, including muddy areas, rocky formations, and fine sand. To preserve the integrity of the environment, divers are encouraged to maintain good buoyancy control and avoid stirring up the bottom sediments in these areas.
