Murner See Holzturm
Located on the northern shore of the Murner See in Germany, the dive site known as "Holzturm" or "Aussichtsturm" offers a unique experience for both beginner and expert divers. This site was once a brown coal open pit mine, now transformed into an enchanting underwater wonderland.
Upon entering the dive site, you will immediately notice the 20-meter stepped mining platform on your left. This platform is adorned with fascinating sights, all above the 10-meter mark. As you explore further, a rope will guide you into the depths, revealing the hidden treasures that await.
The underwater environment here is characterized by its acidic water, a result of the lignite open-cast mining activities. As a result, the aquatic fauna may be modest, with scattered perch being a common sight. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a rare pike or the majestic catfish that resides here. Can you find it during your dive?
With a maximum depth of 17 meters and a visibility of 7 meters, this dive site offers ample opportunities for underwater exploration. Whether you're a beginner looking to gain experience or an expert seeking a new challenge, the "Holzturm" dive site has something to offer for everyone.
