FV Maritime Reefer

The Fishing Vessel Maritime Reefer holds the distinction of being the first ship to be intentionally sunk in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, in 1981. This deliberate sinking transformed the vessel into a captivating shipwreck site for divers of advanced skill level to explore. Resting at a depth range of 20 - 30 meters, this wreck has endured significant damage caused by multiple storms throughout the years.

Diving into the depths of approximately 24 meters, divers will discover a scattering of wreckage across the reef. This underwater habitat has become a haven for various marine creatures, including moray eels and a plentiful population of lionfish.
