Shirahama

The dive site in the water near the Kansai area has long been a favorite among divers. With its convenient location and popularity as a hot spring tourist attraction, it offers easy access for both beginner and advanced divers. Located in the historic Kii Peninsula, this area provides numerous entry points, including beach and boat entry options.

During the fall season, divers can enjoy observing a variety of marine life, including migratory fish such as hawks, pike, yellowtail, and impressive creatures like the green sea turtles. The diverse underwater environment here showcases an array of macro and wide creatures. Thanks to the influence of the Kuroshio Current, divers can encounter many tropical species.

One of the highlights of this dive site is a fascinating wreck lying at a depth of approximately 28 meters. This artificial reef teems with abundant marine life, attracting large schools of small fish. Thrilling encounters with lampreys, as they chase these schools, create a truly unforgettable spectacle.
