The quarry spans an impressive 750 meters in length and 250 meters in width, with a maximum depth of 44 meters. Its crystal-clear waters provide excellent visibility of up to 6 meters, allowing divers to fully appreciate the stunning surroundings.
Diving at Scouffleny Quarry offers more than just beautiful blue waters. Explore the underwater wrecks, including a remarkable 30-meter high metal structure often referred to as "our Eiffel Tower." At Scouffleny, safety and comfort are our top priorities. To ensure a secure diving experience, we have implemented safety measures, including a circulating boat on the water and an infirmary equipped with a defibrillator and oxygen.
Scouffleny Quarry is accessible to all sports enthusiasts and their friends, aged 10 and above. As a designated area of biological interest, we kindly ask that all visitors respect the rules and regulations of the site. Unfortunately, pets are not permitted due to the presence of wildlife in the area, such as deer, rabbits, foxes, squirrels, and birds of prey.
Scouffleny Quarry welcomes divers from all diving federations. However, it is important to adhere to the safety instructions of your federation and follow the house rules of NEMO33 Scouffleny.
We are excited to announce that NEMO33 Scouffleny will open in phases. Phase 1 will be accessible from Saturday, July 8, 2023. Operating hours will be every Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For those wondering about the location, Scouffleny Quarry can be found at 121 Rue de Nivelles, Écaussinnes, Belgium. Please note that the entrance is the gate to the right of 119A, and the exit is through the path that leads to the water tower. Parking is available on-site; however, we encourage carpooling to minimize the number of vehicles. The parking fee is €5 per vehicle, with a minimum of 2 paying passengers. Motorhomes must leave the site at closing time.
Diving enthusiasts will find a wide range of activities at NEMO33 Scouffleny. Whether you prefer scuba diving, apnea, scooter, trimix, nitrox, or even triathlon training, this site caters to all. Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and kayaking are also available. However, isolated swimming is strictly prohibited, and only triathlon clubs with proper supervision can swim in Scouffleny Quarry.
Please note that Scouffleny Quarry is currently undergoing development. Phase 1 facilities include toilets, but changing rooms, showers, and compressors are not yet available. Stay tuned for updates on future phases.
The entrance fee for NEMO33 Scouffleny is €15 per person in phase 1. Payment is made at the entrance, and only cash is accepted at this time. This fee grants you unlimited dives, from your access until the last launch at 6 p.m. Bookings are not required currently, but an online reservation system will be introduced soon.
Food and refreshments are available on-site, thanks to our quality food truck. Indulge in local delicacies while enjoying your time at Scouffleny Quarry. Please note that tables and benches are reserved for food truck customers, and picnics are not permitted.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, participants must comply with certain conditions. These include being in good health and holding a valid medical certificate, possessing a valid diving certificate, and having diving insurance or being responsible for any medical expenses incurred. Participants are also obliged to follow the diving rules of their federation, the house rules of NEMO33 Scouffleny, and exhibit respect for the site and its cleanliness.
