SAS Transvaal (Wreck)

The SAS Transvaal wreck rests at an inclined angle on a flat sandy seabed, with its bow facing the northeast. Despite some deterioration, the wreck remains mostly intact. However, caution is advised as the hull structure is collapsing, making it unsafe to enter. It is advisable to plan your dive during the winter season, as the summer months experience strong currents.

During your dive, you can expect to encounter various marine species such as sea sponges, horsefish, and the striking Barred Finger Fin. The water in this area tends to have a green tint, which unfortunately contributes to poor visibility.

The wreck of the SAS Transvaal offers a maximum depth of 26m and a visibility of approximately 7m. Due to the challenging conditions and potential risks associated with the collapsing hull, this dive site is recommended for advanced and expert divers only. This captivating underwater experience is located in South Africa, specifically near Miller's Point, Western Cape, 7995.
