Pikatxilla
This site boasts a massive east-west orientated wall with a ridge that ranges from 3-5m deep, gradually descending down to 30-32m on the north face. The south face, on the other hand, is slightly shallower, reaching depths of 25-26m.
Divers exploring La Pikatxilla in the Cantabrian Sea, located near Zurriola beach just a short 10-minute boat ride from the boarding point, will be treated to an abundance of marine life. The walls of Pikatxilla are teeming with colorful nudibranchs, santiaguiños, and galateas. Along the ridge, divers can spot gobies, blennies, triggerfish, txitxarros, breams, and sea bass. Exploring the remains of wrecks in the area, divers may encounter conger eels, lobsters, spider crabs, mosaic stripes, monkfish, cuttlefish, scrapie, pouts, and if lucky, even red-billed sharks. Don't forget to look up for sunfish, adding an extra touch of awe to your diving experience.
With a visibility of around 7 meters and a maximum depth of 25 meters, this dive site is suitable for both beginner and advanced divers.
