Palm-mar Cave
The dive site, also known as the Moray Cave, offers an exciting but challenging experience due to varying currents and visibility conditions. Accessible only by boat, it is located near the Cristianos port, a 15-minute boat ride from Blue Bottom Diving. Some divers even dare to explore the Full Cave in this area.
Palmar Cave, situated in Spain's Canary Islands, is a must-visit for divers of all levels - beginners, advanced, and experts. Anchored on a rock platform at a depth of approximately 17 meters, the descent takes you along a wall until you reach a depth of 28 meters, where the sandy bottom is adorned with captivating garden eels. At 31 meters, you will encounter the statue of the Virgin nestled among large rock formations, creating a beautiful gorge. Further down at 36 meters, a dolphin statue pays tribute to the legendary Jacques-Yves Cousteau. As you make your way back to the wall, keep an eye out for the cave entrance, marked by a stone cross in memory of lost divers. The sandy bottom can sometimes cause reduced visibility and difficulty finding the exit, adding an element of thrill to the dive.
The diversity of marine life in this area is astounding. Dive enthusiasts can expect to encounter tiger moray eels, dark moray eels, and dotted moray eels, along with anemones, shrimps, crabs, and other fascinating creatures. With excellent visibility averaging around 19 meters, spotting angel sharks and bull rays becomes a relatively easy task.
To experience the wonders of Palmar Cave, divers can make their way to Avenida Marítima, Palm-Mar, Los Cristianos, Arona, Santa Cruz de Tenerife in Spain. So, grab your gear and prepare for an unforgettable underwater adventure at this remarkable dive site.
