Niagara II
The Niagara II, a 182-foot steel freighter built in 1930, was later converted into a sand sucker. In 1998, it was purchased and intentionally sunk by the Tobermory Maritime Association the following year. Prior to sinking, the ship was thoroughly cleaned to ensure a safe and captivating dive site.
Divers exploring the Niagara II will have the opportunity to encounter a variety of fish species commonly found in Lake Huron, including sturgeon, bass, trout, perch, pike, and walleye.
Located just outside the boundaries of Fathom Five Marine Park, this shipwreck requires a separate tag, which can be obtained at the Diver Information Centre in Tobermory. Multiple dives are recommended to fully appreciate the impressive size and detail of this underwater attraction.
With a maximum depth of 25m and visibility reaching up to 14m, this dive site is best suited for advanced and expert divers. Situated in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, Bruce County, Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it offers a unique diving experience in the heart of Canadian waters.
