Nassero Thila

Neygey Thila is a stunning dive site located just south of Kuda Hithi in the Maldives' Kaafu region. It takes approximately 40 minutes by boat to reach this popular dive spot from Hilton Maldives Amingiri. Neygey Thila is known for its picturesque underwater landscape, consisting of three separate humps interconnected at depths ranging from 15 to 18 meters before descending jointly to the sea bottom. The reef tops start at depths between 6 and 12 meters, with the bottom located approximately 30 meters below the surface.

Despite being an inside atoll, Neygey Thila can experience strong currents, making a fast descent necessary. Divers have the opportunity to encounter white tip reef sharks actively hunting in the currents or peacefully resting in the sandy ocean floor. For those seeking a unique sight, exploring the overhangs and coral blocks may reveal sleeping nurse sharks. Stingrays can also be found resting in sand patches or hiding in the overhangs, and with luck, divers may witness them gracefully swimming through the water. Additionally, sightings of giant trevally, tuna, and various colorful reef fish are common at this dive site.

With excellent visibility of around 21 meters and a maximum depth of 24 meters, Neygey Thila appeals to divers of all experience levels. However, it's important to note that with strong currents, a quick descent is essential. If divers are unable to descend rapidly, it is advised to inform the instructor to allow for adjustments. Whether you're a beginner, advanced, or expert diver, Neygey Thila offers a memorable underwater experience in the mesmerizing waters of the Maldives.
