MONTAÑA HUNDIDA DE L’ESCULL
The Submerged Mountain is a hidden gem located on the scenic South Coast of Spain. To reach this underwater marvel, you'll need to pass through the picturesque Cap Negre and L'Escull de Sant Pere before reaching Punta Plana. However, locating the sunken mountain can be challenging if you're not familiar with the area.
Once you anchor in the crystal-clear waters at a depth of 7 meters, you'll embark on an unforgettable dive on the east side of the mountain. As you descend to a maximum depth of 23 meters, you'll be greeted by a vibrant ecosystem teeming with Mediterranean fauna. Keep an eye out for the majestic Groupers, curious skewers, and graceful manta rays that are commonly found here.
Exploring this underwater paradise, you'll discover fascinating nooks and crannies adorned with an abundance of marine life. The rocky terrain and gentle currents provide a perfect resting place for the colorful mantas. Descending to the base of the mountain, you'll encounter a 14-meter-long corridor, where schools of larger skewers congregate. As you venture further, you may be pleasantly surprised by the presence of impressive groupers that call this place home.
To ensure a safe return, the dive will take you back towards the west, where you'll be shielded from the currents. Ascending along the wall, you'll gradually make your way back to the boat, cherishing the memories of the unique underwater journey you've experienced.
Please note that due to the currents in this area, it is generally recommended for experienced divers. If you're prone to seasickness, you may want to consider an alternative dive site. The visibility in these waters is around 14 meters, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty that lies beneath.
Come and explore the Submerged Mountain, a true diver's paradise located in the stunning waters of the South Coast of Spain.
