Boulari Plateau Manta

The dive at the Boulari pass in the South Province of New Caledonia, France offers a thrilling drift dive experience on a 13-metre plateau that extends the barrier reef. This dive site is known for its strong current, making it suitable for advanced and expert divers. The main attraction here is the opportunity to observe magnificent manta rays, attracted to the area by a cleaning station located at the tip of the plateau known as the "coral potato" or patate manta. In addition to the manta rays, divers can also encounter grey reef sharks, schools of jacks, octopus, moray eels, and thousands of other fish including nudibranchs in the beautiful underwater scenery. Exploring at a maximum depth of 21m, with visibility reaching up to 20m, divers may also come across remnants of US Army shells from the Second World War at Secret Point, located at the bottom of the pass at 25m.
