Avocet Dredge (Wreck)

The Avocet, a 250’/75m long dredge, was intentionally sunk as an artificial reef in 1991, situated approximately 21 miles SSE of Pensacola Pass. Over the years, the wreck has endured the forces of hurricanes, resulting in the upper structure being torn off and scattered.

Divers can explore depths ranging from 27-39m, offering a diverse underwater experience. What makes the Avocet particularly enticing is its close proximity to the Edge, attracting a variety of large pelagic fish species. Divers may encounter wahoo, dolphin, and tuna during their exploration.
