Avion Cessna 188

Explore the captivating dive site of a former CESSNA 188, a small plane that once served as a pesticide sprayer in banana plantations. After an unfortunate accident, the plane could no longer be restored, and in 2000, it was decontaminated and submerged at a depth of 23 meters on the fringes of the vibrant coral reefs. Witness the marvelous transformation of this wreck into a thriving underwater habitat teeming with marine life.

The sunken wreckage provides a sanctuary for an array of enchanting creatures, including gorgonocephalus, spotted sandpiper, butterflyfish, and angel fish. Diodons, barracudas, and kingfish also grace this underwater haven, adding to its allure.

Divers can enjoy an anchorage at a depth of 13 meters, with the opportunity to explore the depths ranging from 13 to a maximum of 29 meters. While the Cessna remains the focal point of this dive, it can be fully explored within a brief 5 to 10 minutes. The majority of the dive is dedicated to immersing oneself in the breathtaking coral reef, adorned with gorgonians, sponges, and corals. If you venture to the sandy depths at 29 meters, you may be lucky enough to observe the graceful garden eels swaying in the currents. This marvelous dive site is conveniently located just 8 minutes away by boat.
