4 mile reef

Welcome to our dive site in New Zealand! We offer a range of convenient amenities including good parking, onsite toilets, changing rooms, and BBQ facilities. There is also a grass area available for you to set up. Our site provides an easy shore entry on a combination of sand and stone, extending down to a maximum depth of 18m. The water clarity is generally good on the sand area, although there may be some silt on the dropoff.

Navigating our dive site is a breeze, making it perfect for divers of all levels. For optimal diving conditions, we recommend visiting when the wind is less than 8knts and coming from an easterly (offshore) direction.

Before descending into the underwater wonderland, you will be surrounded by the breathtaking sight of the snow-capped Ruapehu in the background. Once submerged, you can expect to encounter an abundance of Koura, rainbow trout, and brown trout.

Our dive site is suitable for beginners and offers a maximum visibility of 12m. It is located at Kōhatu Parade, Wharewaka, Taupo District, Waikato, 3378, New Zealand.
