3 Mile Reef Hotspots

This dive site in South Africa, located in KwaZulu-Natal, is easily accessible by boat. It offers an average depth of 25m and a maximum depth of 32m. To enter and exit the boats, divers perform a negative entry.

When exploring this dive site, divers can encounter a variety of marine life including Whip Coral Gobies, Salt, Pepper Moray Eels, Lionfish, Gorgeous Gussy, Paperfish, Garden Eels, Mantas Rays, Spotted Eagle Rays, and Golden Moray Eels.

This deep dive is highly recommended for advanced divers and those with higher qualifications. One of the highlights of this site is the rare and elusive Longnose Hawkfish, which can sometimes be spotted near the Black Tree Coral in the center of the ledge. Another attraction is the pinnacle located just off the ledge, where a large population of lionfish can be observed. As you explore, you will also be surrounded by various butterflyfish species.

With a visibility of 7m and a maximum depth of 17m, this dive site provides an excellent underwater experience for divers of advanced levels.
