U-352 (Wreck)

The U-352, a German submarine from World War II, met its demise on May 9, 1942, south of Morehead City, North Carolina. Sunk by depth charges from the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Icarus, this historic wreck now rests in 35 meters of water at a 45-degree list to starboard.

Today, the U-352 wreck serves as a vibrant artificial reef, home to an abundant array of colorful marine ray-finned fish including groupers and sea basses. Visibility reaches up to 17 meters, allowing divers to fully appreciate the underwater beauty. With a maximum depth of 33 meters, this dive is recommended for advanced divers.
