Oakville (Wreck)
This dive site is a buoyed wreck known as the Work Barge, located in 60 feet/18 meters of water. With easy navigation and good visibility (13m), it is a popular spot for divers of all skill levels. The bottom, at approximately 72 feet/22 meters, consists of muddy terrain. Divers should be prepared for cold water temperatures, as even in the summer the norm is around 41°F/5°C.
While exploring the Work Barge, divers may encounter various marine life, including small fish such as salmon and lake trout. There have also been occasional sightings of freshwater jellyfish.
The S.A. Queen, also called the Jesse Anne Barge, is part of the Oakville Cluster of shipwrecks. It serves as a perfect training site for advanced and deep diving programs.
