Laguna de Apoyo 60m Spot

Laguna de Apoyo is the first official freediving spot in Nicaragua, offering ideal conditions for divers. The water is warm, with no thermocline, currents, or waves to disrupt your dive. It serves as the main training spot for Freediving Nicaragua, offering a clean and accessible depth of 60m. Divers can use the private mooring line, which is conveniently provided at this site.

Situated within a volcanic crater lake, Laguna de Apoyo is home to a diverse marine ecosystem. Although it is neither saltwater nor fully freshwater, this unique habitat supports the existence of seven different species of fish. The largest among them reach a modest size of about 15cm. Rest assured, there are no dangerous creatures in this tranquil underwater setting.

With excellent visibility of up to 9m and a maximum depth of 25m, Laguna de Apoyo appeals to divers of all levels, from beginners to advanced and expert divers.
