Kwarcit Wreck (Boris)
The Manta Diving Center deployed and created the first artificial reef in the Cape Verde archipelago under their Rebuilding Nature project back in January 2006. This impressive artificial reef serves as a vibrant underwater ecosystem, attracting a diverse range of marine life.
Divers exploring this exceptional dive site may encounter a variety of fascinating species, including the Royal Spiny Lobster (Panulirus regius), Nudibranch (Flabellina arveleoi), African hind (Cephalopholis taeniops), Guinean grunt (Parapristipoma humile), and even the majestic Whale shark (Rhincodon typus).
In addition to these captivating creatures, divers have the opportunity to spot other remarkable marine inhabitants such as the Great amberjack (Serial dumerili), White trevally (Pseudocaranx dentex), Frogfish (Antennarius pardalis), Honeycomb moray (Muraena melanotis), Sun coral (Tubastrea aurea), Gorgonian (Eunicella sp.), Banded seabream (Diplodus fasciatus), Soapfish (Rypticus saponaceus), Island grouper (Mycteroperca fusca), Acanthurus monroviae), and the Loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta).
Located near Faro Antigo do Sinó, Avenida dos Hoteis, Sal, 1111, Cape Verde, this dive site offers excellent visibility of around 15 meters and reaches a maximum depth of 28 meters. Due to its depth and the presence of certain marine species, this dive site is recommended for advanced and expert divers.
