Ilhéus da Madalena
The dive site near Madalena, Portugal features two islands that were created by a volcanic eruption. These islands are home to a sunken crater and lava fingers where divers can observe a wide variety of fish species. Additionally, there is an opportunity for a swimthrough experience in the longer island.
The region's vegetation is typically sparse, but the diverse fish species can be discovered amidst the tidal waves. Divers can expect to encounter triggerfish, moray eels, rays, and more. This site is recommended for advanced divers.
