Hitdorfer See, Leverkusen

The Hitdorfer See, located in Germany, is a pristine dive site with a former dredging lake spanning just under 10 hectares. With a length of 473 meters and a width of 273 meters, this dive spot offers ample space for underwater exploration. With a maximum depth of 18m and visibility reaching up to 3m, divers of all levels can enjoy the crystal-clear waters.

This picturesque lake boasts gently sloping banks, making it an ideal destination for beginners to hone their diving skills. To ensure a safe and controlled diving experience, there are two training platforms situated at 5m and 9m depths. These platforms provide a perfect opportunity for divers to practice their skills before venturing further into the depths.

Divers can encounter a variety of species such as perch, pike, eels, carp, roach, crayfish, triangular mussels, and basket mussels. A visit to the dive center at Hitdorfer See ensures that divers have access to convenient facilities. Changing rooms and toilets are available for divers to freshen up before and after their dives. However, it's important to note that wet clothes and feet should be directed to the designated outside porta-potty, rather than the normal toilets or guest room.

Diving in Hitdorfer See is regulated to maintain ecological balance and preserve the marine environment. For this reason, diving is limited to a depth of 14m. Divers must also maintain a safe distance from the fishing spots located on the north-eastern shore. It is crucial to respect and protect the anglers' facilities and equipment, ensuring they remain undisturbed.

To ensure a coordinated diving experience, entry and exit for diving are only permitted within the marked area. Entering from other areas along the shore is strictly prohibited. Special consideration must also be given to bathers, as the diving area on the south-western shore is closed to divers from 01.05. to 30.09. This temporary closure is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.
