Fang Ming (Wreck)

The Fang Ming, or commonly known as the 'Chinese Wreck,' was a Chinese cargo ship intercepted by the Mexican navy in 1995 while attempting to smuggle 88 illegal Chinese immigrants into California.

Divers exploring this site in the water can expect thrilling encounters with a variety of wildlife, including semi-tropical Pacific species such as octopuses, lobsters, eagle rays, mantas, eels, parrotfish, angelfish, tuna, sea lions, and the possibility of encountering hammerheads.

After being confiscated, the Mexican government generously donated the ship to be transformed into an artificial reef in the Sea of Cortez. Today, it rests at a depth of 69 feet just off the coast of Las Isla Espiritu Santo, near La Paz, Mexico.

With a visibility of 12 meters and a maximum depth of 21 meters, this dive site is suitable for divers of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Come explore the underwater wonders of Mexico and dive into the history of the Fang Ming wreck.
