Erlaufsee Schwabbelland
Renowned for its exceptional visibility of 6m, the Erlaufsee is a favorite destination among divers. Its enchanting landscape and crystal-clear waters create an ideal environment for underwater exploration. The designated diving area encompasses only a small portion of the lake's western shore, clearly marked by two signs. Within this zone, divers can expect to discover fascinating submerged trees and encounter numerous fish, such as majestic pike. Although plant growth is minimal, the lake bottom predominantly consists of muddy and loamy terrain.
It's important to note that diving in the Erlaufsee requires adjustments to ensure safe exploration. As a mountain lake dive, divers must correct their no-decompression time and adjust their ascent speed accordingly. We strongly recommend divers have experience in Altitude Diving. Additionally, permits for night diving and ice diving must be obtained from the lake's owner, Österreichische Bundesforste AG. It's worth mentioning that the use of underwater vehicles, including aqua scooters, is strictly prohibited in order to preserve the pristine ecosystem of the lake.
Whether you're a beginner, advanced thrill-seeker, or an expert diver, the Erlaufsee in Austria offers an exceptional diving experience. Located at Erlaufseestraße, Mariazell, Bezirk Bruck-Mürzzuschlag, Styria, 8630, Austria, this majestic dive site awaits your exploration.
